Patterns & Welt

When working with busy fabrics that have a predominant direction, a solid fabric, in the background color works beautifully for welting. It will define the shape without being loud and it won’t break the pattern.

Cynthia Reese designed these cushions for a built-in book-shelf and benches, and added trapezoid bolsters for comfy and luxurious lounging. Modern and fun!

Tricky to sew zippers here ;) ...I decided to go with a U shape at the bottom, hiding two sides under the welt, to be able to get the bolster filling in.

Bench Cushions

Window seats and built-in benches are quite an execution exercise. It is all about precision! Then they complement the architecture and bring sophistication into the room.
